As the supplier of DCFR technology in the Polish market, I recently had the opportunity to demonstrate its real power during an emergency roadside situation. A car had skidded into a ditch due to ice. Fortunately, the driver was unharmed but needed help extracting the vehicle.
The Situation:
The car was stuck in a difficult position in the ditch, complicating the assessment of the best way to extract it without further damage.
Traditional methods would have required an on-site assessment of the situation. Even images from a phone wouldn't have helped, as they offer too limited a perspective; likely resulting in the deployment of more equipment than necessary.
How DCFR Technology Helped:
Using DCFR technology, I was able to transmit live images directly to the response team.
Not only could the team see the car's position in the ditch, but they also had a comprehensive view of the road layout, access routes, and surrounding areas, enabling a better strategic approach.
The team in the office could rotate the drone camera to view the situation from every angle and make an informed and optimal decision before even leaving.
Based on the live drone feed, they sent the appropriate vehicle, which successfully extracted the car, avoiding the need for heavier equipment.
